Founder of Harp Wellness Fest | Artist, Educator, Creative Visionary
Johanne McInnis holds a Bachelor of Education, a Bachelor of Arts in Music, and certifications in both English and French. A recipient of the 2009 Nova Scotia Music Teacher of the Year Award, she is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Music and continuing to expand her impact as a musician, educator, and guide in mindfulness and creativity.
Born on the tranquil shores of Kingsport Beach, Johanne founded the Harp & Yoga Fest in 2017—a soulful sanctuary where music, meditation, and movement unite to foster connection and inner clarity. Her artistic journey flows through diverse genres, from jazz to medieval, indie, and Celtic—each echoing the rhythms of life itself.
In 2017, she completed her Vinyasa Yoga certification at Breathing Space Yoga Studio in Halifax with Blair & Jenny, integrating this holistic wisdom into her harp meditations and festival offerings.
Johanne’s commitment to interdisciplinary education has led her to teach Music, Dance, Theater, History, and Languages across four Canadian provinces. Her philosophy is deeply rooted in the belief that learning and adaptability are the heart of transformation, echoing the words of Eric Hoffer:
“In times of change, the learners will inherit the earth, while the learned will find themselves beautifully equipped to deal with a world that no longer exists.”
As a composer, harpist, flutist, guitarist, and pianist, Johanne’s music offers sanctuary and strength. She is the creative force behind the Celtic jazz trio “Nature Speaks” and the upcoming bilingual show “Calling You Home | Retour aux sources,” which bridges cultures and languages through sound and story.
From performing as the house harpist at Château Frontenac to hosting transformational gatherings across Canada, Johanne continues to inspire women and creatives to live, create, and lead with purpose.
A devoted mother of four and lifelong student of mindfulness, she lives her mission fully:
To elevate others by harmonizing creativity, healing, and bold self-expression.
